The Best Anime Eyebrows of Winter 2021: Eggbrows? Ex-Brows? There’s a pun here somewhere!

A new anime season is upon us, which means it’s time for me to look back on the last season and judge the most important aspect of any series’ character designs: the eyebrows. Truly, there is nothing that draws me to a new character more than a good set o’ brows. They are the key to expressive character design – a well designed set can tell you all you need to know about character. Are they a cute girl filled with whimsy and joy? Perhaps they have fluffly triangular nubs. Are they a cranky old man? You can probably tell from their scraggly grey eyebrows. The eyebrows can unlock many a secret about a character.

This past season was a bit hectic. We had botched, rushed adaptations; we had unplanned recap episodes pretending to be planned episodes; we had 3D. But this post isn’t about alla that. It’s about something much more exciting (and much less controversial). I have open to the “eyebrows” page and a flagrant desire to use em dashes and semi-colons – let’s blog!

As a quick note – Attack on Titan‘s Eren Jaeger and Yuru Camp‘s Aoi have both been nominated in previous lists. Therefore, they are not eligible for this list. They both won their respective past seasons, though, so they are still MVPs of Winter 2021.

Visions of Cybersex: The Pre-mature Prognostications — TEHBEN.COM

Hello! I have been writing a lot, but not so much on me blog here, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. I’ve been doing a lot of freelance work, with varying degrees of success…most of the stuff I’ve been writing has just been quickies that I’m pumping out to make a little more money. Turns out, monetizing your hobby is a mixed bag…it’s still a wee bit soul-sucking T-T

I have, however, written a few things that I am quite proud of and happy with! And I realize I forgot to give it a share here! So, if you missed it, please check out this (kinda NSFW) piece I wrote for TehBen a few weeks ago. It talks about the 90’s and their realtionship with computers and sex. Fun! Weird! Erotic! My favorite adjectives!

Click the linkage below to check it out! 😀

Jenn finds a handy guide to the future of cybersex published minutes before the World Wide Web was unleashed on the public. Is it accurate, or is it hilariously wrong? There’s only one way to find out…

Horny 4 Gay Horror: What Keeps You Alive (2018)

I like horror. I like murder. I like lesbians. Therefore, 2018’s What Keeps You Alive seemed like the movie for me. As problematic as the killer lesbian trope may be, it’s one that I’ve always been drawn to. What can I say, I’m a simple woman with simple tastes!

Colin Minihan’s thriller focuses on Jules and Jackie – a lesbian couple who have travelled to a cabin in the woods to celebrate their first anniversary. Of course, this cabin in the woods is the pefect place to LURE SOMEONE OUT TO MURDER THEM, and that is exactly what Jackie intends to do. Jules must fight to survive and grapple with the fact that her wife is a total piece of shit. Luckily for Jules, Jackie does a pretty shit job of murdering her wife, which is how this movie can actually last for 98 minutes.

I have returned…with a new domain and a slightly new look!

It’s been a minute since I logged on here. Believe it or not, I’ve been writing a lot – I’ve submitted a few things over at and done a few freelancing joints here and there. But I figured it was about time to start updating this bad boy again.

A flaw with creating an anime blog is that I felt like I could ONLY write about anime. That’s a problem, since my only interest isn’t anime. I’m kinda funny about my watching habits – I’m either watching a million anime or none at all. Which means I either had a lot to write or…nothing at all 😉 To rectify this, I’ve decided to expand from being Anime Hell Zone to being Jenn’s Hell Zone. Hopefully this new domain works out and all the old links don’t become broken…

I have also made a YouTube channel! I decided it might be more engaging if I make videos AND write. I really, really enjoy video editing (I used to do it a lot in college), and I wanted to get back to my roots, so to speak. So subscribe to me over on Jenn’s Hell Zone – there’s nothing there (yet), but I promise there’s good stuff to come 😀

Well, that’s all I have for right now. I hope you all have been doing well – I’ve been reading some of your stuff and lurking, believe it or not. I’m excited to get back into the groove, even if it’s only sporadically. Hopefully the people who used to follow me still use this and I’m not just posting into the void lololol ❤

Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction Volume 1: Holy shit, the Earth is fucked!

They’re here. They’ve invaded. The aliens. They’ve crashed their way into Tokyo and war is surely coming. The government is at a loss as to how to go about preserving mankind, and Japan is thrust into a new and confusing era!

What will happen to the aliens and the people of Tokyo?

Who cares! Inio Asano’s Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction isn’t really a story about aliens. It’s a story about high school girls.

Kadode Koyama and Ouran “Otan” Nakagawa are bored, and aliens are the only things that can spice their lives up. …But wait, nothing is really happening. The aliens are just…there, weak and hanging around, and everyone in Tokyo is going about their normal lives. How will the girls live an interesting life if impending doom isn’t even exciting?

Rex Nebular & The Cosmic Gender Bender | Jenn’s Game Cabinet

With new PS5 games being listed at an MSRP of $70, it is finally time to forsake modern gaming. Why pay $70 for some open-world bullshit when you COULD be playing some horny point & click adventure games? That’s my new motto, baby. Ben had the right idea when he scooped up that Turbografx 16 Mini. As for myself, first I dove into the typo-ridden world of 1992’s Cobra Mission, and now I’ve entered the more grammatically sound world of 1992’s Rex Nebular & The Cosmic Gender Bender, created by MicroProse. This game has dick jokes. It’s got aliens. It’s got casual sexism. Truly, what more could you ask for?

I’ve had this one vaguely on my radar for a few months now. There was a demo available on Internet Archive, and as soon as I read the title, I knew that I needed to give it…

Wow. This pandemic has gotten so bad….that we are playing…this mess. Jenn managed to find a game less erotic than Leisure Suit Larry!

Hello, hello, I know I haven’t been posting much, but I have been playing some anime porn games. You know, doing exactly what you expect me to be doing. I wrote a review for one of these porn games for, so please check it out!

TOP 10 ANIME EYEBROWS OF WINTER 2020: Return of The Nubs You Love

Aaaaaaaaaah, yes. It’s that time again. Time for the most important anime coverage of the season. It’s time for me to rank the animated eyebrows that graced your screens this winter…a few weeks late, as always. Believe it or not, I actually watched quite a few of this season’s offerings – for once, I had a decent list of brows at the ready, instead of frantically looking through shows last minute to see if there were any contenders.

Was it a season where scruffy eyebrows reigned? Or a season full of waifish thin brows? Was it one where those thick ‘n short nubs peppered the foreheads of cute anime girls? Or was it full of average arches? Click on to find out whether Winter 2020 made our eyebrow dreams come true…

The Baby | Shlock Footage

HELLO all, I promise I’ll write about anime again soon, but I’ve been busy watching shitty movies. You understand, right? Anyways, I wrote another lil review of a stinker called The Baby for last week – check it out!

Hello, zillions of loyal readers! I know you’ve been anxiously awaiting the newest installment of SCHLOCK FOOTAGE – sitting on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, sweating, drooling, YEARNING for a new movie recommendation about nuns, titties, vampires, or all the above.

WELL! I’ve got you covered. This time around, allow me to tell you the story of an adult baby. And no, it’s not a fetish thing…at least, I don’t think it is. We’re watching 1973’s cult classic, The Baby.

This movie is listed as a horror-thriller, but that doesn’t really do it justice. It’s more of a Lifetime movie gone wild. The Baby is about Anne, a social worker who develops a strong interest in the case of the Wadworths – Mrs. Wadworth, her two daughters, Germaine and Alba, and her seemingly mentally-disabled son, Baby. Yes, the adult baby’s name is just, “Baby” even like…

Well, it LOOKED cute: A look at art style dissonance in anime

Hey all, this is a repost of a blog entry from 2018. I’m trying to get back into writing stuff like this, so I’m giving it a reblog as inspiration for me! Plus, consider this a placeholder while I try to get back into my groove 🙂

Have you ever been fooled by an anime’s cutesy art style? Were you one of the people who were absolutely floored when episode three of Madoka Magica came around, or someone who wasn’t expecting Made in Abyss to involve so much gore and vomit based on the character designs? Did you think Doki Doki Literature was just an innocent dating sim?

Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. Even Cactus Matt was fooled by a manga’s cover art recently! The poor fella just wanted to see some cute anime girls, but instead he got cute anime girls melting!

This concept of having an art style that doesn’t necessarily match up with the show’s tone is commonly utilized in anime. It’s called art style dissonance. The logic behind it is simple enough – if you see a cute looking character getting absolutely obliterated, you’re (probably) going to be more shocked by what’s happening. That can’t happen to her, she’s got pink hair and big moe eyes!

There are the more well-known examples like Madoka and Made in Abyss that I mentioned above, but those just scratch the surface. There are many, many series that utilize this method. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites.

Content warning: since this post is specifically talking about anime that are secretly fucked up, there’s some mention of some fucked up stuff in here. Some mentions of body horror and sexual assault beyond this point.
